The GREEN Team is Virginia Tech Recycling's Environmental Awareness and Sustainability Education Team.
Programs will begin on March 24th, and will then continue throughout the remainder of the semester.
The GREEN Team members, along with Virginia Tech Recycling, strongly feel that each of us has a responsibility to future generations and to future Hokies to understand the planetary impacts of our actions as individuals and as a society.
Pairs of GREEN Team members are prepared to give a 30 minute interactive program about sustainability to students comprised of two main parts: one about the problems that the earth is facing, and one about the solutions to those problems.
Because it is important for students to grasp the "bigger picture" of how humans and our planet interact, the first section discusses our planetary situation, our human actions, and the impacts that those actions have on our planet, while the second section is about what individuals and society as a collective whole can do to reduce those impacts.
These presentations will be given in the residence halls, at student organization meetings, fraternity and sorority meetings, in some classes, and around the Blacksburg community.
