Recyclemania ‘08
Recyclemania 2008 has started! Over a 10-week period (January 27-April 5), campuses compete in different contests to see which institution can collect various recyclables! This competition is to encourage recycling on college and university campuses nationwide, Recyclemania is the hottest thing to hit recycling since aluminum cans! In 2007, 201 schools participated, together collecting 41.3 million pounds of recyclables.
Each week VTR will post our week’s recycling totals submitted for the “Per Capita Classic” of RecycleMania 2008. The corresponding week’s totals from RecycleMania 2007 is also included. We are doing better this year in all categories so far! To follow the rankings for all schools, week to week, check out the website http://www.recyclemania.org/. Monitor the results for Virginia Tech and let’s be a winner in Recyclemania 2008!
